Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins, a Mexican-American sportscaster. She is an ESPN anchor for news and also hosts SportsNation at times. She began working for ESPN in 2016. She is the child of the journalist on television Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta is bilingual since age nine. Her ability was crucial in helping her land her first job as a production assistant for Univision Miami and Univision Miami, where she collaborated with producers of programs like Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. The CBS subsidiary located in St. Petersburg hired her after this as reporters for sports. She also worked as a journalist on KNVO TV 48 Univision in Rio Grande Valley Texas. She reported on stories related to immigration and drug trafficking within both Texas as well as Mexico. Also, she was often requested to serve as an anchor for weather and sports. Deportes 23 in Dallas, Univision's station affiliated with Dallas. The station was more accountability. She reported on events like the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series and Dallas Cowboys, NBA postseason and finals FC Dallas as well. She also produced Univision 23's local sports show Accion Deportiva Extra, on which she acted as anchor. She also served as the anchor for sports on Despierta America Deportes morning show. Also, she was anchor of the sports segment for Primer Impacto, a magazine show that was broadcast on the UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collins' family was originally from Veracruz Mexico. At some point they moved into Mexico City where she was born on the 22nd of November in 1985. She is the older sibling of her parents. The family in 1992 quit Mexico and moved to Miami. The couple divorced shortly after and her mother got married to a naval architect named Fabio Fajardo who died of kidney cancer in the year 2006. In June of 2006, she went to spend one week with her sibling at Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl worked there. Antonietta was an incoming senior in high school and was certain of what she wanted to do in her future career. She visited Mount Union University in order to decide if it would be a good fit for her. The result was that she was a fan of the university and they offered the course she wanted. Following the completion of her high school studies, she decided to go to the University to pursue media studies. The professor she had was Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM, and was participant in her class formed a strong relationship with her. Mark's passion for journalism and the confidence she had in herself encouraged her. She, in turn strived to exceed his standards and not fall short of his expectations.
