Angela Evelyn Bassett has been an American actress since the end of the 1980s. Since the late 80s she has been working on film and television. She's received numerous awards including the 16 NAACP Image Awards. Bassett was born in New York New York and fostered by an aunt in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Bassett along with her sister at the age of five old, made the move from New York to St. Petersburg to live with their mother, who was the separated father. When she was in high school Bassett watched John Steinbeck's drama Of Mice and Men starring James Earl Jones and decided that she wanted to become an actor. Following her graduation at Yale University New Haven Connecticut in 1980, with a Bachelor's Degree in African American Studies, she continued to pursue a Master's Degree (1983) at the Yale School of Drama. She met Courtney B. Vance, another actress from Yale and they were married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. degree in African-American studies in 1981. Masters of Fine Arts from Yale School of Drama School. Jordan Park Elementary School Disston Middle School (7th grade), Azalea Middle School (8th and 9th grades), Boca Ciega High School. Angela Bassett has been cast in one the leading roles of Ramonda in the action-adventure film, i.e. Black Panther: Wakanda forever (2022).
